It was great to see Nintendo stearing away from their tried and true method of throwing countless iterations of Mario at us for this years E3 presentation. Instead they have us something all Nintendo fans really wanted to see. Our first look at Nintendo’s first true HD The Legend Of Zelda title, which looked mind blowingly epic!

The segment of Nintendo’s E3 digital event was presented by Zelda producer Eiji Aonunma who took us through how the developers have build the new game with the intention of “rethinking the conventions of Zelda”. Putting strong emphasis on the series open world puzzle structure seem way back on the NES and SNES iterations of the franchise. Taking gamers back to a place where the world was there’s to explore and tackle independently without having to follow a linear set of dungeons to unlock the items required to traverse new areas.

The game looks beautiful with an expansive and rich environment in which to explore and discover this reimagined staple of the original Zelda titles. With lush flowing grasslands leading to denser forest and large mountain expanses. This could be the Zelda that finally takes us to a place beyond The Ocarina of Time and to a new style of play that captures the classic essence of the series.
We’re very excited for this new Zelda title and cannot wait to get our hands ok it. Currently Nintendo has the title scheduled for a very open 2015. With the last Zelda title to hit Wii U, Wind Waker HD arriving in May could we expect a similar launch period for this game too? We certainly hope so! What do you think to the look of Nintendo’s first HD Zelda and the idea of a full open world to explore?
