It’s been a long and arduous wait for more information on Nintendo’s upcoming Switch console after it’s rather epic unveiling back in October last year. We evaluated the launch announcement considering that perhaps the Switch could return Nintendo to being a serious contender within the console market once more after the relatively poor reception of the Wii U due to both costs and lack of truly engaging software. Thankfully after Nintendo’s latest share of information we’ve got a clear picture of both the price and release date of the Nintendo Switch alongside a host of other intriguing information.
Revealing that the console would cost £279.99 in the UK, $299.99 in the US and ¥29,980 in Nintendo’s home country of Japan was a huge surprise and falls in line with the highly competitive pricing which many retailers had already theorised with their placeholder listings since the unveiling in October 2016. Pull this in with a release date of March 3rd just over a month and a half away and we’ve got a lot to get excited about with it’s rather imminent release.
At GAMR we’re getting seriously excited for the launch especially after all this fresh info. With Nintendo promising even more details about upcoming games at it’s Switch Treehouse event too there’s plenty to look forward to.
What are your thoughts on the price and release date of the Nintendo Switch? Are you excited to get your hands on the console when it launches or are you still apprehensive after the shortcomings of the Wii U? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
