As reported by IGN, Star Wars episode VII is now officially filming according to Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. In an interview with Stephen Galloway as found over at Hollywood Reporter he discusses the upcoming movie including elements of it’s script and casting. Discussing that the film has indeed started to shoot even with an as of yet incomplete cast “We have a lot of them” then continued regarding the core cast the names of whom have not yet been revealed “We’re just no completely done yet”.
In regards to the script the interview covers the oft mentioned redrafts and alterations. Acknowledging that there have been issues getting the script right, when asked if it was now in a position where they were happy to move forward given the start of shooting Horn said “It actually is now”. When talking about the timeline of the movie he mentioned that the story would pick up “where 6 left off — and where 6 left off is 35 years ago by the time this is released”.
All sounds awesome to us and it’s great to hear that the movie is making steps forward with script, cast and finally shooting. Are you looking forward to seeing Star Wars Episode VII when it releases in cinemas December 2015?
