Sony have announced that the previously Japan only PS Vita slim will be dropping into UK stores from February 7th. The price is expected to be around the £180 mark for what is a fantastic piece of hardware.
The original model PS Vita is a joy to play, with its high quality feel and rich 5″ OLED screen. The new slimmer unit is roughly 15% lighter and 20% thinner than it’s predecessor and changes the OLED screen up for a new LCD screen instead. The UK slim will replace all of the older Vita units as stock is sold through in stores. If you fancy getting your hands on a model with that amazingly crisp OLED screen then now’s the time to do it.
The PS Vita Slim will launch in the UK with a black model only. Though Japan has seen 6 different colour variants since it’s launch over there, meaning we might still receive some of these too. The unit will be available wifi only and includes 1gb of internal storage, so you’ll probably need to get yourself a memory card.
With the Vita having such a rich and diverse, ever growing range of quality games now is the time to pick one up and experience all it has to offer. Furthermore if you’re a Playstation 4 owner and have Playstation Plus you’ll find plenty of awesome free games ready to download. On top of that you’ll be able to use remote play with your Vita and PS4 letting you play your titles anywhere with a strong wifi connection.
I’m a huge fan of the PS Vita having had once since launch. The library of games are fantastic and it’s a high quality feature rich piece of hardware. It’s certainly worth trying if you never have before. Has the new model tempted you? Do you own a PS4 and fancy trying out all the cross compatible features?
