Pokémon are back! Pokemon Go is a smartphone app on Android and iOS that is taking geeks of all ages by storm. It launched last week in Australia, New Zealand and USA, and is already the most downloaded app on Android, beating the mightily popular Tinder. What’s even more staggering is that after it’s ‘Soft Launch’ some outlets estimate that in a week it’s made over $14 Million and it will have more users registered that Twitter…yea than Twitter! All in a single week.
Since it launched last week there has been plenty of controversy with someone in Australia finding a dead body on their hunt as well as gangs robbing people at Pokestops (Places players go to get loot). The Northern Australian Police force put out a message on their Facebook page reminding players they did not have to enter the Police station to catch Pokémon and also told players to stay aware of their surroundings before adding…”That Sandshrew isn’t going anywhere fast. Stay safe and catch ’em all!”
With the UK launch finally here, go download the app and see what all the fuss is about. One thing the GAMR Team has noticed is that you can see Pokémon Go players a mile off, they come in all ages, which makes this 32-year-old writer feel a little better about his life choices. GO CATCH THEM ALL! I know I will…
