As is common place with the Super Bowl, many advertisers be that for games, film or TV push out new and exclusive TV spots and trailers related to their content. In conjunction with this years Super Bowl Marvel Studios have brought us a brand new trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The first thing that’s most noticeable about this new look at The Winter Soldier is the gritty tone that’s established within. It feels like Marvel are pushing cap into edgier and potentially darker territory. Anyone who has read the comic of The Winter Soldier will understand how he story revolves around a deep rooted personal struggle on an emotional level for Steve Rogers. It’s one that calls into question his morals and beliefs and shows how out of place his values are in a more chequered and less clear present day.
The trailer gives us a great look at both the Falcon, Cap’s new ally and the devastation and power that The Winter Soldier possesses. It looks set to be a very exciting and interesting movie, whilst no doubt full of action spectacle Marvel seem to be giving the film something of an action thriller edge too. With the film releasing very soon it’ll be brilliant to see if the trailer is truly representative and if that’s the case Captain America: The Winter Soldier could be set to be one of the uniquest and enjoyable of Marvel Studios movies.
If you’ve not seen it already, rumours are The Winter Soldier has screen tested so well that a Captain America Trilogy is already in the works.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier arrives in UK cinemas on Friday the 28th March.
