It seems like Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will be causing a lot of trouble (as expected) for the Man of Steel in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Be warned the rumour after the jump should it be correct is spoiler laden so only read on if you really, really want to know.
The rumour coming from Geek Tyrant, via IGN states that their source who worked as an extra on the film’s Detroit set for several weeks can confirm that the ending for the film has in fact already been shot. According to the source “One of the scenes shot features Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal Kryptonite and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod’s body”.
In news that coincides with this, Badass Digest have also confirmed that their sources have noted similar things claiming that Lex has been using the leftover pieces of the world engine and it’s rubble from Man of Steel’s climax to synthesise Kryptonite. In turn it claims that Zod’s body is “the key to his master plan to defeat Superman”.
What do you think to the likelihood of these rumours? Could this paint light on Batman’s attempts to bring Superman down or could his break in to Lexcorp to steal Kryptonite be to understand its threat to Superman? It’s interesting to note that Kryptonite will be present in the movie and having come from the irradiated rubble left behind from the world engine makes sense and is an intelligent change to the canon. Either way we’re even more excited to find our just what is going on when the film releases.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’s release date is now March 25th 2016 after having been pushed back from its original slot of May 6th 2016 which it was set to share with Marvel’s Captain America 3.
