After the recent news that a new Batman: Arkham game had promotional materials in retail stores ready for a reveal this week, it’s finally time to find out what the next game in the Arkham series will be.
Batman: Arkham Knight is the newest entry into the Batman: Arkham series from the games original creators Rocksteady who started this fantastic franchise back in 2009. It’ll be fantastic to get back into the rich and immersive world they’ve created which promises to expand on the huge environments of their previous entry Batman: Arkham City. A listing for the game uncovered by
videogamer.com reveals some critical information on the title. Suggesting that the game will be the ‘Explosive Finale’ to the Arkham series and that for the first time we’ll be able to drive a newly designed Batmobile. The aforementioned Batmobile can be seen in the below trailer and looks excellent, something of a cross between that of The Dark Knight trilogy of movies and the classic design we’ve come to expect from the comics.
The listing for the game continues to expand by giving us a hint at the story and some of The Dark Knight’s infamous rogues that we’ll be facing by claiming the game will be “The ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever.” The game looks set to bring something fresh to the series, which following last years good but not great Arkham Origins should make this a true return to form and bring back the excitement and adrenaline of the previous entries.
What do you think to the new game? Are you as excited as we are about the prospect of cruising around Gotham city in the awesomely designed new Batmobile? Here’s hoping the game will blow us away with a fantastic story and the classic high quality gameplay we’ve come to expect from the series.
