2. Elf
A star turn from Will Ferrell in the surprisingly charming and light Elf, a great movie full of festive cheer and some hilarious moments. It sparkles throughout with wit and humour and is absolutely one for all the family, kids will love it just as much as the adults.

1. Gremlins
As far as alternative christmas films go, it’s a hard push to find something quite as unusual as Gremlins, whilst full of fantastic christmas cheer it’s dark, sinister and ever so mischievous too. Cute Mogwai Gizmo should never get wet, unfortunately he does and we’re shown why. Spawning a host of similar yet more cheeky creatures, they eventually become the Gremlins of the films title. Havoc reigns and chaos ensues as the small town setting of the film is ripped apart by the little monsters, it’s up to Gizmo and his adoptive owner Billy to save the day.
