When talking with Telltale the developers of the upcoming episodic Game of Thrones gaming series, CEO Dan Connors informed digital trends that the game would not be a prequel to the TV series as many had predicted but would in fact run concurrently with the show.
In similar fashion to their Walking Dead games series the game will take place in the same world at the same time but with different characters. The events of the show no doubt reverberating across and affecting the characters of the game too. Connors discussed “there’s so much going on and it’s so rich. Every decision that King Joffrey makes impacts so many people. Any microcosm in that world, people are affected by the decisions that are made and that plays out across the whole thing.”
It’s exciting to know that this upcoming series will not be a prequel as many had predicted and will let us explore the world of Game of Thrones, experiencing it’s highs and lows through a fresh set of eyes. There’s so much to explore of Westeros and we can’t help but wonder if your character or characters will have any specific allegiances or be part of any of the major houses. Only time will tell, but one things for sure, we can’t wait to get ourselves fully immersed within Telltales interpretation of the world of Game of Thrones.
