Playstation 4 to receive awesome new sharing features in update 1.70

As revealed by Sony the Playstation 4 is soon to receive a huge list of new features focus see particularly on enhancing the share functions in the upcoming update 1.70. According to Sony’s Scott McCarthy these features are all “incorporated as a result of your great feedback”. The biggest edition with the update is a new editing platform for video content called SHAREfactory which allows user dramatically greater editing control over their shared gameplay videos. It’s described as a “new rich video editor app for PS4 that makes it easy for you to customise your gameplay videos”. Here’s a quick look at some of the benefits:

On top of this users will have new functionality allowing them to directly upload their edited videos to Facebook, as well as to move them via USB to a removable storage device such as a external hardrive or USB memory stick allowing you to easily move to a computer. Other features focus on share itself, giving the ability to alter the recording time of your gameplay segments, remove default saves and even the ability to limit who your streaming is shared with. You will also now be able to capture video directly from your HDMI output as the update will allow users to “switch off HDCP”, “so you can record and share longer clips of your gameplay sessions”.

Beyond all these sharing functions there is also the addition of the ability to pre-load pre-order games from the Playstation store. Now when you pre-order a new game from the store it will pre-load on your console meaning you can jump straight into the action on it’s official release. An excellent and very useful feature if your keen on always being the first to play the newest titles.

What do you think to these new Playstation 4 firmware editions in update 1.70. Certainly a lot of great stuff added that we can’t wait to try out.
