Disney Interactive have announced a brand new Star Wars game coming this spring. Star Wars: Assault Team is a turn based strategy, combat and card collecting game for iOS and Android devices. IGN have shared the news released directly from Disney’s Blog. Whilst details are thin on the ground, the game involves the player collecting a classic roster of Star Wars characters in the form of cards that will all come with their own unique stats and special abilities. These will then be combined and used to fight in groups with special tactics depending on your combination of characters. The game will feature locations from across the Star Wars universe and will include locations and characters from the original trilogy.
This sounds a great deal like last years Uncharted: Fight for Fortune on PS Vita a fantastically well designed and massively fun action strategy card game. If this can live up to the excellent design and fun of that title then we’re in for a treat. I mean after all it’s basically Star Wars top trumps on mobile, what’s not to like.
Star Wars: Assault Team will launch this Spring available on iOS, Android and Windows 8 devices.
