Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes dated for European release and bonus content revealed

Excitement continues to grow for the next instalment of the ever brilliant Metal Gear Solid franchise.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has been described by the games director Hideo Kojima as a prologue of sorts to the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and a showcase for the new open world stealth gameplay that both games will be based around. The release date for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is yet to be disclosed but is expected to still be in development for quite some time.

To whet our appetite it has been officially announced that the prologue Ground Zeroes will be released on March 20th 2014 in Europe and several days earlier on March 18th in America.

Ground Zeroes will be available on PS3 & Xbox 360 on physical media for £29.99 and digitally for £19.99. The next generation PS4 & Xbox One version will only be available as digital downloads at a cost of £29.99.

Both Playstation and Xbox gamers will be treated to their own exclusive content on their platform of choice. Xbox gamers will receive the bonus mission ‘Jamais vu’ featuring Metal Gear Solid 2 protagonist and general cyborg badass Raiden. Playstation gamers on the other hand receive the bonus mission ‘Deja Vu’ based around a modern re-imagining of the classic start to Metal Gear Solid as well as it’s classic protagonist Solid Snake.
