Marvel casts it’s new Daredevil

Whilst many may remember the muddle of a movie that was Daredevil staring Ben Affleck the character remains one of Marvels more unique heroes and as such it’s excellent that he is getting revived in his own exclusive to Netflix limited series. As of today Disney & Marvel have announced the new actor to play the titular character and that man is none other than Charlie Cox who has recently been seen as Owen Slater in Boardwalk Empire.

News of the casting suggests that things are moving full stream ahead for Marvel’s run of Netflix limited series. With Daredevil set to kick things off with a 13 episode run which will be followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage & Ironfist shows culminating in a group team up effort, The Defenders.
Marvel released the following synopsis for the series as reported by IGN; “Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the superhero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.”
What do you think to the casting news? Whilst we’ve not seen that much of Charlie Cox in action we certainly think he looks the part and his acting chops from Boardwalk Empire should most definitely support his ability to play the duality of the Matt Murdock/Daredevil character. Are you excited for the series and of course it’s culmination along ised others in The Defenders?
