Here’s our first look at the fully costumed Suicide Squad cast

After our recent look at what we had thought to be Will Smith’s Deadshot costume (Later revealed not to be the case – see the real one here) as well as Jared Leto’s unique and unusual Joker we’d wondered how long it would take until we got a look at the rest of the ensemble cast for the upcoming DC Comics movie Suicide Squad. Surprisingly that reveal was just around the corner – perhaps in response to the ever growing on set picture leaks – as Director David Ayer has now tweeted out our first look at his assembled Task Force X, AKA, The Suicide Squad.

An interesting mix of characters and costumes for sure, it certainly seems that given a few notable exceptions that DC are sticking with more practical, grounded and earthy toned outfits for this mish-mash roster of villains come anti-heroes. Those exceptions though look downright excellent, Katana looks almost comic book accurate, as does Will Smith’s Deadshot especially with his full face mask – check it out here – and of course Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn brings an excellent splash of colour and diversity.

Speaking more on Harley Quinn, it’s great to see that she too is almost comic book accurate – although more current comics, than classic Batman: The Animated series. Whilst we’re not entirely sure on those boots, it’s great to see some very comic features including the blue – and we assume pink – alternate pig tails as well as the pasty Jokeresque skin tones.

From left to right the picture above depicts the characters Slipknot, Captain Boomerang, The Enchantress, Katana, Rick Flag, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc and El Diablo. We’re quite excited to see Killer Croc in the line up hinting at potential altercations with Batman
in the past and potentially in future movies – maybe even as part of the Suicide Squad movie itself.

What do you think to the overall look of the team, it’s definitely a hodge podge, but that absolutely works given the disparate nature of each of these individual characters. For us we’re loving the look of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc and Enchantress specifically but think the team looks good overall, they don’t look particularly uniform but that’s definitely the right move for a team of villains brought together through force. Let us know what you think about the look of the overall team in the comments below.
