Gotham TV show, first images from the set!

Images from the upcoming young Jim Gordon focussed Batman series Gotham have begun to surface online as the show films it’s pilot episode. In the image above from IGN we see Ben McKenzie most well known for his role as Ryan Atwood in teen drama The OC as the young detective Jim Gordon. The full series of screens as found on Batman News cover what appears to be a rooftop chase through Gotham.

It seems unusual to see the character both glasses and moustache free, though this could be an element that comes in through the show to suggests the characters maturity and movement towards the Commissioner Gordon we all know and love from the Batman universe. Interestingly further shots have been captured that give us a look at one of the shows first villains, none other than Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. The character as portrayed by Robin Lord Taylor can be seen below, again with a different look to that of the tubby, short and monocled Penguin we’re all so familiar with.

With the filming taking place in New York currently it’s very likely that we’ll start to see even more images from the shoot, perhaps we’ll even get our first look at the shows young and freshly orphaned Bruce Wayne. At GAMR we can’t wait for the series and think it has huge potential, are you excited to see where Gotham can go and the fresh take it may have on these well known and beloved characters?
