Constantine gets pilot order at NBC

Yet another live action DC TV series is coming closer to fruition. According to Hollywood Reporter, NBC have ordered a pilot for the upcoming show that focuses on one of DC’s most well known supernatural characters. The pilot for Constantine focusing on the character of the same name from the excellent Hellblazer series will be written by David S. Goyer who of course is responsible for co-writing the phenomenal dark knight trilogy as well as the recent Man Of Steel and it’s forthcoming sequel.

Writing alongside Goyer is the Mentalist’s Daniel Cerone. Currently only a pilot for the show has been ordered but with such an excellent writing team behind it and a character that’s so brilliantly positioned within the DC universe that live action just makes sense this is a show that could be an absolute highlight in years to come and I absolutely expect it to get a full season order.
With this ever growing list of DC properties coming to TV including Constantine, Gotham and the excellent Arrow entering it’s second season it’s a great time to be a fan of the larger DC comics universe. I’m excited to see where they can take these properties and indeed what impact they will have on DC’s cinematic efforts.
