A Destiny Sequel is on the way

After the hugely successful launch of Destiny being simultaneously the largest new franchise launch in gaming history as well as flying into the top 10 highest grossing game of all time with a chunky $500 million revenue. It’s not a surprise that a further game in the franchise is expected, with Activision having revealed a huge Q3 earnings report with much of that due to the excellent results provided by Destiny.

The rather awesome game, which has two expansions on the way and the potential for more looks set to keep us busy with a second installment. Responding to it’s fantastic financial results and reception, Erik Hirshberg, Activision’s publishing CEO stated “Work has also begun on future expansion packs as well as on our next full game release. We’re very pleased with the launch and continuing engagement”.

What do you think to the idea of an immediate sequel to Destiny being on it’s way? We loved the game, but given the fact that it’s upcoming expansions look to set us back £20 we’re hoping that a sequel will be absolutely chock full of content given the divisive nature of the level of content in the original game. What do you think to a sequel to Destiny? Is it too soon, or are you ready for more beyond the upcoming expansions?
