5 awesome Star Wars games part 2

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

The Force Unleashed was a really interesting surprise for many. The games promise of an untold story of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice and playing as a unique sith hunting down Jedi was an interesting and unusual tale. It allowed for a far greater level of offensive gameplay and a huge variety of force moves. As an action adventure it flowed well, whilst occasionally losing it’s way in terms of depth of story the action was tight and made you feel empowered playing as Starkiller Darth Vader’s secret apprentice.

Knights of the old republic

Both in scale, quality and content knights Of The Old Republic was a blessing to Star Wars fans on its release. It have us the opportunity to get engrossed within the epic Star Wars universe long before the events of the films, allowing us to experience a time when the Jedi and Sith were common place. As a full scale space and planet roaming RPG you could create your own character and explore the world making your own story as you went along. The game excelled in not only being so rich in content, but in finally giving players the freedom to explore and enjoy the Star Wars universe like no game before it.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

Shadows of the Empire was quite a hidden gem back on its release. Available both on PC and early on Nintendo’s N64 the game was an enjoyable romp focused on smuggler Dash Rendar and set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The game was unique in that it’s story was created very closely with George Lucas and was designed to be an addition to the canon. Gameplay allowed you to explore the Star Wars universe assisting all the key characters from the original trilogy and featured space battles and action shooter style planet side adventures. It had it’s issues with some awkward controls and some under explained elements. But was all in all an excellent addition to the rich history of Star Wars and a brilliant game to play back on its release in 1996.

Other notable favourites are the fantastic Star Wars: Battlefront, the classic X-Wing Vs. Tie Fighter and of course Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy games that we love but haven’t played quite as much as those above. But tell us what is your favourite Star Wars game?
