Rumours continue to appear regarding 2016’s upcoming Batman V Superman. The newest of which that surfaces from the often reliable sources at Latino-Review suggest that a slew of new villains could be coming to the movie in various supporting roles. Be warned potential character spoilers lay ahead.
The rumours suggest that we’ll be getting to see the Batman Villain Victor Zsasz in the movie. If you’ve not heard of Zsasz before he’s often portrayed as an unhinged and mentally disturbed serial killer with a lust for killing, whom carves a line on his body for each of his kills. The team at IGN theorise that the recently cast Callan Mulvey could be playing the role given his physical resemblance to the character. If Zsasz does appear in the movie we’d imagine him to be in a sequence that introduces us to our new Dark Knight who would no doubt be hunting him down.
Additionally the film could see the addition of two characters to Lex Luthor’s entourage. According to the report these would be Morgan Edge, a PR representative of lexcorp, with the recently cast Scott McNairy fitting the role nicely. In addition master assassin David Cain has been further rumoured and could likely play into the plot as parts of Lex’s effort to take down Superman should that be the case.
Lastly a big surprise and one that certainly will help expand the DC universe on screen is that of Amanda Waller a character known for running various operations that take a hard stance against superhuman activity. According to the report she’s described for the movie as “a very stern and focused senator with an intimidating presence. She doesn’t trust Superman. At all. Sees him as a threat and comes up with a counter measure that I won’t spoil. Many have hoped that DC’s TV universe of Arrow might be connected to the movie and with Cynthia Addai-Robinson currently playing Amanda Waller on the show we do wonder if that role might progress alongside others from the show to the big screen.
What do you think to all of this new casting for Batman V Superman? These new villain characters could certainly mix up the dynamics especially if Amanda Waller is set to play a role in the movie. We’re intrigued at the prospect though the increasing number of characters worries us that the plot might potentially be over saturated featuring many fan favourite characters but with too little time to explore them properly.
